Who I Be!?
My name is Brian Beck. I've worked in Higher Education for 11+ years. The first six years, I taught Digital Imaging and Design at a technical college. Seeing a need for faculty development, I asked to be pulled out of the classroom to help fill that need. I then move to San Angelo, Texas to continue working with faculty at Angelo State University as an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research.
It has been my passion for teaching and helping others that I dove into the Open Source Community. This only fueled my fire to bring more Open Source into the Educational environment.
I've recently won a national design contest for my submission to the SCALEx10 Conference (Southern California Linux Expo.) This honor entitles me to rub elbows with some of the most talented developers and programmers from around the world. The are the guys and gals who work on the projects that make you go "wow!"
